AVON — Mary Ann (Forbes) Smudzin, 93, of Palm Coast, Florida, formerly of Avon,NY, passed away at her home at Las Palmas in Palm Coast, Florida On January 21, 2021.
She was born in Shamokin, Pennsylvania on January 5, 1928. After high school she married her high school sweetheart, Tony Smudzin, with whom she was married for 65 years. They relocated to Rochester, New York and later to Avon, where they built a home and continued to raise their family.
After her husband’s death in 2014, Mary moved to Las Palmas an independent senior living community in Palm Coast, Florida, close to her beloved sister, DeDe Calabrese, where she had many friends and was visited by her offspring from around the country.
Mary is survived by her children; Barbara Hoyt and her husband Ted of Ossipee, New Hampshire; Michele Lamontagne and her husband Donald of Lauderdale By The Sea, Florida; and Stephen Smudzin of Pavilion, New York; her six grandchildren – Jesse, Ryan, Julie, Jaime, Alyssa and Cassie; and ten great grandchildren – Colby, Calder, Rhys, Chamberlain, Raley, Noelle, Thomas, Colton and Ori, and another on the way.
Mary is returning to Avon to be laid to rest with Tony.
ARRANGEMENTS: Due to Covid, a celebration of life will be held when safe.
